The Art of Chad Verrill / Verrillius / VRL
The goal of 2011 was to do 10 things at 100% instead of 100 things at 10%. I laid out the above grid in the early part of the year with the intention to fill each box with a print ready image for a new series of screen prints. Many sketches and mockups never even made it onto my site or blog - the above are the most complete and the best of the set. I have made the decision based on economy or production to print the two 9" x 24" prints in the center and four others at 9" x 12" - denoted with a check mark. The images with x's will not be printed. Check back soon for the status of the printing as well as the 2012 Prospectus.

The Art of Chad Verrill
96 pages. 6" x 9" black & white perfect bound book.
Contains the comic pieces: Ponderous Horizons, NG, Wilden, FKK, and The Story of Grandmother as well as original versions of the drawings that became CVIC003 Tackles Demons, a section of pages that look like comics but really aren't and a section of sketches and pieces of other projects.
Limited to 500 copies.
Some of these are for adults.
All of them are bad scans.

Chad Verrill works tirelessly out of Portland, ME.
His work fuses together the decorative arts and illustrative qualities of the medieval hand-rendered & printed page, the sense of the art deco movement of the early 1900’s, the erotic qualities of early blue book illustrated editions, and the high fantasy of the 70s in which he was born and the 80s in which he learned to love drawing.
The work of Chad Verrill offers a chance to escape, for him as well as the viewer, from the everyday world. Beautiful from a distance, sometimes nightmarish upon closer inspection, it mirrors our perception of the world around us as we grow older but never “grow up."
What else can I do: In general I prefer to do personal work and have things that I have done shown in galleries, or published in comic anthologies, books and magazines. I am interested in licensing images for t-shirts, skate decks, snow boards, etc. and I am open to commision possibilites in illustration & graphic design.
